Weekend doodle mania

I recently bought a few fabric pens for onesie-decorating at a colleague's baby shower. This weekend I put the pens to further use super-swirling a plain table cloth (and hiding a couple of stains in the process) and then proceeded to doodle on a couple of hankies as well.
It is just as well I live in rented accommodation, otherwise the lamp shades would be party to similar treatment.
This is by no means my first bout of craft madness. Last time I went decoupage crazy: One of my coffee tables is covered in chocolate wrappers, the other in cowboys (bottom image).

Mitzi's gardening blouse

My Mom recently got talking to her sister and mentioned my penchant for vintage clothing. As it turned out my aunt had an old family friend's blouse stored away: First washed by boiling nearly one hundred years ago the cotton blouse is still in great shape and I have every intention of wearing it. The collar is particularly beautiful :-)

Strangely enough there are only two buttons, with the bottom part of the blouse hanging loosely. I guess it was meant to be worn under a dress, making further buttons unnecessary.

Once I find it up in this mess I call home I'll post a picture of the original owner.

I didn't think I'd ever find second hand shoes.

Last weekend I discovered a local store had removed the Staff Only sign usually draped across the stairs to the third floor.
Up there were vintage dresses, skirts, hats and shoes. I homed in on a pair of t-bars the moment I laid eyes on them, knowing full well how unlikely it was they'd be my size. To my disbelieve they were a perfect fit, and so was the next pair.
The beige ones are my current favourites.

I had to get the heel tips replaced on the brown ones: First step I took the hard plastic shattered like glass.

Visits to that shop will most definitely have to remain a special occasion. Some of the cloths are reasonably priced, but trust me to go for the financial whoppers.. this one gorgeous 40s dress fitted just right. Thank god it was yellow. Any other colour and I'd be 35 pounds poorer.
